Big Thunder Mountain in Magic Kingdom will be closed for refurbishment from May 4th through May 21st, 2020. We found confirmation of the dates for the closure on the popular attraction’s page on the Disney World website. However, a section of Disneyland Park known as Big Thunder Ranch is closing on January 11, 2016 to make room for the new Star Wars Land. Big Thunder Mountain and Rivers of the Far West will be closed to the public for 13 months for an unprecedented refurbishment. While there is no confirmed news as to why Big Thunder will be closed, the short time frame suggests that the attraction will simply undergo minor maintenance and repair work.

But sadder still to see Magic Breaks have BTM listed as being closed 11-22 March 2019? The Magic Kingdom coaster will be closed for 4 days during March 2015.
